learners on average need around 65hrs of tuition to get to test standard this can be shared using an instructor to learn and family or friends to practice what you've learned, this method enables constant progression through your journey. it is recommend you take around 40hrs with an instructor and around 25hrs with family and friends so the Chi discount is a great saving on the first part of your journey as 10hrs of tuition is normally needed to get you to a level of competence where you are able to start going out with family and or friends.

Once you've passed your test or whether your're already a qualified driver we're sure you'll want to spread your wings and explore areas further afield so in order to help you whether its visiting the Grandparents or friends at far away Universities we can prepare you for the long haul journeys.
Learning to drive on faster moving including Motorways for long periods of time our Motorway lessons will help with planning your journeys, greater observation skills, exiting and entering fast moving roads and reading and understanding Motorway and A road signs and information boards.
we'll also help you learn how to safely overtake slower moving vehicles.
Getting ready for the big day
As part of your training in becoming a safe driver and especially in the lead up to Practical Test day from. the Tangmere Driving Test Centre we offer training around recognised DVSA test routes making sure you're familliar with particularly harder parts of the routes such as Roundabouts including Fishbourne roundabout, Stockbridge roundabout, Whyke roundabout, Bognor Road roundabout, Portfield Way roundabout and many more of the smaller roundabouts.
We also offer mock tests leading up to the big day to help you identify areas of weakness and to give you an idea of how it will be on the big day. Mock tests usually start and finish from the DVSA Test Centre on City Fields Way Tangmere.
How many driving lessons will I need?
On average, learners need around 45 hours of lessons with an instructor plus 22 hours of private practice with family or friends, though this varies by individual. We'll give you an honest assessment of your progress throughout.

Yes — Ian is an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) registered with the DVSA, with over 18 years of experience.
How much do lessons cost?
A standard two-hour lesson is £80. Motorway lessons are £90 for two hours. Booking a 10-hour block saves you £50 overall.
Do you offer lessons for businesses and company drivers?
Yes, we offer driver assessments and eco-safe driving training for employees who drive for work, including a written report and summary after each assessment.
